There’s something to please everyone at Sacrewell, from young families and heritage fans, students and campers to people in search of a cream tea overlooking some of Cambridgeshire’s most beautiful countryside.
As an agricultural charity, we pride ourselves on our rare breed farm animals, including rare breed pigs, goats and sheep, as well as the insights into where food comes from (on select dates you can take a tractor ride around the land farmed by Riverford Organic Farms and you’ll be amazed at what you learn).
Our 18th century watermill has been turned into a national centre for milling heritage with the help of a Heritage Lottery Fund grant, while our collection of old farming equipment shows the way farming used to be – find out exactly why we still measure engine performance in horse power.
Take our wildlife trail or one of our rambles, find pond life in the mill pond, spot the rare red kites and brown hares or help your children to understand what’s involved in keeping a pet during a visit to our Animal Village and Discovery Centre. And then there’s our Playbarn for the under-12s, complete with a kiosk selling drinks and snacks during peak times to keep their parents happy while the kids let off steam.
Take a look at our year-round programme of events and you’ll find even more to see and do, from Easter egg hunts and lamb feeding to Father Christmas.
